We invite you to visit our HeartScarves galleries to view the wonderful scarves made by generous people in our community, in a show of support and concern for women with heart disease. You will also be able to read some responses from recipients of our red scarves, in HeartScarves Stories, and to learn more about heart disease in women, in Heart Facts..

At this site, we share with you the richness of creativity that exists in our communities. We hope it will lift your hearts, to see the beautiful scarves that have been donated to HeartScarves. We also hope that the stories and information that we present, will lead to better cardiac care for everyone.

WomenHeart of San Diego North Coastal, and of San Diego, affiliates of WomenHeart, the National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease (www.womenheart.org), have chosen the red scarf as our symbol. For us, the red scarf represents the lifelines of caring and connection that exist among us all. Our goal is to be able to give a hand-made red scarf, to each member of the local WomenHeart support groups, to women undergoing cardiac procedures, and to some of the outstanding people who are advancing the cause of heart health for women.

The love and attention that go into the production of hand-made items, are felt by the recipients, and the makers alike. The HeartScarves become part of each woman’s healing journey.
